About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Programs to lead the strategic direction and delivery of the community programs at Women’s Legal Service Tasmania. This is a full-time, statewide role, working across each of our offices in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the organisation’s community programs and initiatives
- Manage and oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs and services that address the needs of women in the local community
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government, community groups and other partner organisations
- Ensure efficient and effective program delivery, monitoring performance and outcomes
- Manage and develop a high-performing team
- Contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making of the organisation
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in leading the development and delivery of community programs and initiatives, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify and address community needs
- Commitment to the empowerment and support of women in the community
- Appropriate qualification and/or experience in a senior management role with sound business acumen
- Knowledge of the community legal sector (experienced lawyer, ideally 5 years post admission, will be highly regarded)
