Feedback and Complaints

tell us how we can improve our services

As a client of Women’s Legal Service Tasmania, you have a right to share your feedback, concerns or complaints about your matter, or how we are working with you.

We welcome your feedback, whether it’s positive or negative, as it helps us ensure we are giving the best possible help and for us to understand what we can do to improve our services.

Making a complaint will not stop you accessing our services.  If you would like a different solicitor to represent you in your matter, we will offer you another of our solicitors to take care of your matter.

However, if you have suggestions or concerns with the way a staff member of Women’s Legal Service Tasmania is working with you, we encourage you to provide them with your feedback.  They will listen to you.  They will take your feedback seriously and will work to ensure they are meeting your expectations and needs wherever possible.

You can give your feedback in person, over the phone or in writing.  If you don’t feel comfortable talking directly with your solicitor, please feel free to speak with our friendly administration staff by calling 03 6231 9466, or emailing admin@womenslegaltas.org.au.  We’ve put together a document that might help you to provide your feedback which you can download and complete, or you can also send a letter to us, at PO Box 707, North Hobart, 7002.

What we want to hear from you

We are happy to receive any feedback:

  • Things you like about what we do
  • Things we could do better
  • Suggestions you have
  • Questions about our service delivery
  • Something you are not happy with

What we’ll do with your feedback

If you are unhappy with something about our service, or have an idea about what we could do better, we will get back to you about your feedback quickly, and we will listen to you with an open mind.  We will talk with you about what we can do to improve things, and we will let you know what action we take.

Help to provide feedback

You can ask a friend, family member or a support person to help you give your feedback, or you can ask us for help.  If English is not your first language, we can organise an interpreter if you need one.

Help from someone else

If you would like to raise a concern about the way your legal matter is being handled by Women’s Legal Service Tasmania, you also have the option to speak with the Legal Profession Board of Tasmania.  You can find out more about their complaints process from their website, or you can give them a call on 02 6226 3000.
