The Federal Parliament has passed the Sex Discrimination Amendment (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Intersex Status) Bill which provides protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people for the first time at the Federal level, against discrimination in areas such as accommodation and healthcare.
