Commonwealth Attorney General Mark Dreyfus QC has launched ‘Knowmore’ – a free service providing advice to people considering or intending to provide information to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The specialist service has been set up by the National Association of Community Legal Centres.

Knowmore can assist people who may wish to give information or evidence to the Royal Commission with advice available on how to provide that information, what protections may be available to them along with any compensation that they might be entitled to. Knowmore can also advise them about existing confidentiality agreements for witnesses who may have previously entered a settlement over a child sexual abuse allegation or event.

The service is confidential and independent from the Royal Commission.
