This morning’s breakfast at the Wrest Point Function Centre was a huge success with 600 people in attendance to hear former Prime Minister The Hon. Julia Gillard speak about her work as the Chair of the Board of the Global Partnership for Education.

Ms Gillard captivated the audience with a run down of what she has been up to from walking Reuben the cavoodle to her work in education in countries such as Rwanda before spending time talking in person to audience members after the event.

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback on social media, in person and by telephone and email. We feel very pleased to have been able to be part of such an exceptional event.

Of course we would very much like to thank Ms Gillard who generously donated her time to come to Tasmania and raise funds for our service. In doing so she raised a sum of over $20,000.00 which will go to frontline services assisting vulnerable and at risk women and children in Tasmania.
